Our R&D laboratory is involved in innovation projects with very high constraints: flame retardants, self-extinguishing properties, self-adhesive PET, expanding resins, high thermal conductivity, and partial discharge reduction. All this in highly regulated sectors such as aeronautics, automotive, and energy.
Through these projects, SEG DIELECTRIQUES confirms its commitment to remain at the forefront of innovation while promoting an industrial model rooted in the local community. As an independent, family-owned company, SEG continues to actively promote French manufacturing on the international stage.
Founded in 1946 in Montpellier, SEG DIELECTRIQUES has had its headquarters and production facility in Poussan, in the Hérault region, since 1978.
This strategic location in the Occitanie region enables the company to design and manufacture its electrical insulation products locally for the French and European industries.
An independent family business since its creation, SEG DIELECTRIQUES remains a small-scale company, managed for three generations by the Mateu family. Today, Alexandre Mateu continues this legacy by combining industrial tradition with innovation.
As a French specialist in electrical insulation materials, SEG DIELECTRIQUES has been supporting the evolution of motorization and energy conversion technologies for decades. Historically focused on the manufacture of insulation for electric motors, our expertise has expanded to electrical transformation and then to new forms of mobility, with solutions dedicated to hybrid and electric vehicles (HEV/EV).
Our production site—nicknamed “the red factory”—covers 6,600 m² since its expansion in 2002.
Committed to an active sustainable development approach, SEG has been working since 2013 to reduce its carbon footprint. Thanks to the installation of a thermal oxidizer, we have eliminated VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions from our manufacturing processes. Our environmental commitment is recognized by ISO 14001 certification.
In 2015, we reached a new technological milestone with the installation of a new industrial coating line that is unique in France. This high-precision production tool can manufacture webs up to 2,000 mm wide.
This new tool is capable of producing pre-impregnated materials as well as 100% polymerized products on a wide variety of technical substrates.
Since 2017, SEG DIELECTRIQUES has been a proud member of French Fab, the movement that brings together and promotes French industrial excellence. This dynamic, supported by the State, the Regions, and the main players in the industry, embodies the technological, eco-responsible, and competitive renewal of our sector.
